Seam is designed around a strict local-first architecture. All photo editing, Apple Vision AI background removal, bokeh blur, sticker generation, mesh gradients, and video exports are executed 100% on your device. Your photos, videos, and project artwork are never uploaded to any cloud server.
This Privacy Policy describes how Seam — Carousel & Collage (“Seam”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use our iOS mobile application (“App”) or companion website.
1. On-Device Processing & Apple Vision AI
We believe your personal photos and creative content are entirely private to you.
Local Neural Engine & Core Image: AI-powered features such as background removal, portrait bokeh depth blur, sticker cutout generation, color adjustments, and mesh gradients operate locally on your device using Apple's Vision framework, CoreML, and Metal.
No Media Server Uploads: Photos you import from your library or take with your camera, as well as the carousels, collages, and videos you export, are processed and stored solely within your device's local sandbox storage. We do not transmit or store your media on external cloud servers.
2. Information We Collect and Process
A. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Projects and Canvas Content: Your saved carousel projects, layout arrangements, typography, color palettes, custom stickers, and edit history are saved locally via SwiftData.
Photo Library Access: The App requests permission to access your iOS Photo Library strictly to allow you to import images to your canvas and save rendered carousel slices or video exports to your Camera Roll.
B. Analytics and Crash Diagnostics (Google Firebase)
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to monitor application performance, crash diagnostics, and feature usage on an aggregated, anonymous basis. This may include:
Device model, iOS version, session duration, and general locale (country-level).
Crash stack traces to help us debug and resolve stability issues.
C. Advertising & Rewarded Ad Unlocks (Google AdMob)
To provide core and premium features freely, Seam integrates Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads (for unlocking features such as AI cutouts, mesh gradients, video pan export, and curated aesthetics during a session).
Ad Identifiers: AdMob may collect and process device advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA), IP address, coarse location data, and ad interaction metrics to deliver and measure advertisements.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT): In accordance with Apple iOS guidelines, personalized advertising is only served if you explicitly grant permission through iOS App Tracking Transparency. If you decline, non-personalized ads are shown.
D. Feature Flags (Firebase Remote Config / Firestore)
We use Firebase Remote Config to dynamically enable or configure feature availability, templates, and ad rules without requiring an App Store update. No personally identifiable information is collected or transmitted for this purpose.
3. How We Use Information
To deliver responsive on-device editing, auto-slicing, and high-resolution video/image export.
To maintain, diagnose, and optimize app performance and reliability.
To serve relevant advertisements and reward users with premium tool access upon watching rewarded ads.
To prevent fraudulent behavior and ensure compliance with App Store policies.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
The App integrates trusted third-party services whose privacy practices are governed by their respective policies:
Because your projects and photos are stored on-device, you have full control over their lifecycle:
You can delete individual projects, slides, or custom assets anytime from within the App.
Uninstalling the App will delete all locally stored project files and cache from your device.
Analytics and advertising data are retained according to Google's standard retention cycles.
6. Security
We prioritize security by minimizing data collection and executing all creative workloads on-device within Apple’s sandboxed environment. While no electronic system is completely infallible, we employ industry-standard practices to protect any diagnostic data collected.
7. Children’s Privacy
Seam is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as GDPR in Europe, CCPA/CPRA in California, or DPDP Act in India), you have rights regarding your personal data:
Ad Personalization: You can manage or revoke tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > Seam.
Photo Library Access: You can modify or revoke photo library permissions in iOS Settings > Seam > Photos.
Opt-Out of Analytics: You can contact us to inquire about or request assistance regarding analytics data.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. When updates occur, the updated policy will be published here with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
